NEUROSURGEON AND PSEUDOTUMOR CEREBRI SPECIALIST

Dr. Santiago Figuereo is an internationally recognized board certified Neurosurgeon with specialized interest and expertise in minimally invasive neurosurgical procedures of the brain, spine and peripheral nerves. He has a specialized interest in endoscopic procedures for intracranial, skull base, and pituitary tumors. Patients who undergo minimally invasive procedures benefit by a faster recovery period, less time in the hospital, lower risk of complications, less pain, and can usually return to normal activities much quicker than with traditional open surgery.

He is one of the few neurosurgeons in Florida fellowship-trained in functional neurosurgery and is nationally recognized for his expertise in the surgical management of movement disorders, including deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease and surgical procedures for epilepsy. He has trained national and international neurosurgeons in advanced minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Dr. Figuereo collaborates with spine bioengineers to develop new neurosurgical procedures and design innovative instruments used internationally for minimally invasive spine surgery.

“Making an impact on someone’s life is my best reward. I strive to combine my skills and passion in neurosurgery to deliver expert, innovative and compassionate care to improve the quality of life of those suffering with issues related to the brain, spine and peripheral nervous system.”
